Riding School
Standards and Care

As a fully licenced and insured riding school, we prioritise high care standards for ponies and riders. To ensure safety and wellbeing, we have an 8.5-stone weight limit and a height restriction of 5’2”. These guidelines help protect our small ponies, keeping them happy, healthy, and comfortable during every session.

Our Natural Horsemanship Approach

Natural horsemanship focuses on understanding ponies’ natural behaviours and working with them in a way that promotes trust and mutual respect. This gentle approach is woven into every riding lesson, helping young riders develop confidence, patience, and a deeper connection with their ponies.

Every interaction is built on kindness and communication, ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for both ponies and riders.

Frequently Asked Questions

What safety measures are in place for riders?

Safety is our top priority. All riders are provided with a helmet and a high-vis vest for lessons, especially when riding in public areas. Our approachable teaching staff carefully supervise every session, and our ponies are trained for a calm and controlled experience.

What should my child wear to their riding lesson?

Riders should wear solid shoes or boots with a good heel—trainers are not allowed. Comfortable trousers like jodhpurs or leggings are ideal, and shoulders and arms must be covered at all times. Gloves are recommended for added comfort.

Are parents allowed to watch lessons?

Yes! We provide shaded viewing spaces near the arena where parents can comfortably watch their children’s lessons. It’s a great way to see their progress and share in their achievements.

What happens if it rains?

Lessons will go ahead in light rain, but in the event of heavy rain or unsafe conditions, we’ll reschedule your session at no extra cost. Our cabin offers a space to wait or engage in pony care activities if the weather turns unexpectedly.

Can my child start lessons if they’ve never ridden before?

Absolutely! Our riding lessons cater to complete beginners as well as those with more experience. Our staff focus on building confidence and skills at a pace that suits your child, ensuring a fun and rewarding experience.
